2016 July MLB World Series Futures Update

Chicago Cubs (+350)

The hard-hitting boys of Wrigley Field are still the top favorites this season. Well, after all, the Chicago Cubs have the best record in the majors, 57-37. They’re starting rotation and offense have looked nothing but spectacular, as the team currently ranks second overall in ERA (3.21) and 3rd overall in runs per game (5.13). It’s only right that the Cubs are on top of the baseball world right now with those kinds of productions.

San Francisco Giants (+400)

The San Francisco Giants remain right behind the Cubs for the No. 1 record in the majors with a 57-38 win-loss mark. Their renowned trio of Madison Bumgarner, Johnny Cueto and Jeff Samardzija has performed well enough to lead the Giants to several victories this season. But it’s fair to say that the team’s offense, which is piling up at least four runs per game, has contributed to many of their triumphs, too.

Buster Posey, Brandon Belt and Brandon Crawford have solidified the offense for San Francisco. The three have combined for 271 hits, 139 runs, 152 RBIs and 31 homers, while Posey, in particular, has arguably been the most lethal. He leads the team in batting average (.286) and in homers (12).

Cleveland Indians (+650)

The Cleveland Indians, meanwhile, continue to prove to the world that they are the real deal this year. They have the third-best record (56-38) in the majors, and have been on an absolute tear thanks some excellent pitching from Corey Cluber, Danny Salazar, Carlos Carrasco and of course, Josh Tomlin. These elite hurlers are the key reasons why Cleveland is fourth in the league in ERA (3.60).

The same can also be said at the plate. The Indians are one of the only five MLB clubs that are racking up at least five runs per game, and the pairing of Francisco Lindor and Mike Napoli can attest to their offensive success.

Lindor leads the team in batting (.299), OBP (.358) and hits (108), while Napoli has punched in a total of 22 homers and 67 RBIs already.
