2016 June MLB World Series Futures Update

Chicago Cubs (+300)

As mentioned earlier, the Chicago Cubs have the best overall record in the majors this season. They are well above the .500 mark with a 44-20 win-loss record. Serving as proof of their on-going success is arguably the best pitcher in baseball today: Jake Arrieta. He’s been eating alive every single opponent, owning a 10-1 win-loss record along with a 1.86 ERA.

Apart from Arrieta, what makes the Cubs very deadly is also their loaded offense. They rank third in the majors in terms of runs (5.38) and RBIs (5.14) per game, while also placing fifth in doubles (118).

Having all of that said, it’s pretty clear that the Cubs are looking almost flawless. And so long as they continue to sustain their fine form throughout the rest of the year, don’t be surprised to see them the last ones standing at the end.

San Francisco Giants (+750)

The San Francisco Giants are finally starting to heat up after a relatively slow start to their 2016 campaign. They’ve won 21 of their 29 games in May and are currently on track to do so, or exceed that mark this month of June.

A testament to their success has been consistent productions on the hill and at the plate. The Giants, who own the fourth-best record in the majors today, currently rank among the highest in the league in ERA (3.47) and in runs per contest (4.45). Along with this efficiency, you can’t forget about how much experience and overall talent that the Giants have. This team can undoubtedly win it all this year.

Washington Nationals (+800)

The Washington Nationals, meanwhile, are still on track to make their first-ever World Series appearance. They have the second-best record in the majors right now with a 42-25 record and that’s mostly thanks to their phenomenal starting rotation, which holds a 3.20 ERA this season.

Stephen Strasburg leads the way with 10 wins, 118 strikeouts and a 2.90 ERA. But of course there’s still former AL Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer, who has finally begun to relocate his form. He is 3-0 with a 1.23 ERA and a .156 opponents’ batting average in this month of June.
