As we approach the midway point of the 2015-16 NBA regular season, only three teams so far have excelled above and beyond the rest of the pack. Let’s have a quick rundown of those three running favorites in the oddsmakers’ point of view that are primed to take home the Larry O’Brien Trophy in June.

NBA Championship – Triple Threat at the Top

An unprecedented 33-2 record to start the season makes the Golden State Warriors the runaway +130 overall favorite to repeat as the league’s champions. Stephen Curry’s MVP form from last year has not waned at all, scoring an NBA-best 29.8 points per contest this season. Even jack-of-all-trades Draymond Green is playing out of his mind, having the most triple-doubles in the league (six) so far.

Not far behind the Warriors are the San Antonio Spurs, who continue to dominate their opposition on both sides of the ball, and are priced at +275 in claiming their second NBA title in three years. Kawhi Leonard is slowly taking over this aging yet resilient San Antonio club with flying colors, and the Spurs also have an impenetrable defense eight now, currently the only team to hold their opponents to less than 90 points per contest.

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers– also priced at +275  – are still the team to beat out in the Eastern Conference. LeBron James is still putting up fantastic numbers across the board, and the Cavs are finally a complete unit with Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving at full-strength. Although the rest of Cavs’ opponents in the conference have improved significantly in general, there’s still no doubt that boys from Cleveland remain the unanimous alpha dogs in the East, and are poised to remain as such all the way into the postseason.
