SBN 2017 CFL Futures Odds

We still have quite a long ways to go before the 2017 NFL season kicks off, but you don’t have to look far for some football betting thrills, as the 2017 season of the Canadian Football League will begin in just a couple of weeks’ time on June 22.

Even if the action from the CFL isn’t necessarily up-to-par with that of its American counterpart, having an alternative option for your pigskin cravings is still better than having none at all. And who knows? Maybe you’ll soon find yourself as a true fan of the gridiron battles up North.

Having said that, have a look below at our brief preview for three of the league’s current front-runners for the Grey Cup along with the odds for all nine teams in Canuck Country. And if you’re still in search of a viable sportsbook site for your betting thrills, check out our very own sportsbook review section for some tried and tested online bookies.

2017 CFL Season Futures Odds

Calgary Stampeders (+300)

Looking to avenge their crushing overtime loss at the 2016 Grey Cup are the Calgary Stampeders, who have won the West Division in three of the last four seasons but have only one championship to show for.

The Stampeders still have on of the best quarterbacks in the CFL under center. Bo Levi Mitchell, who has seen his passing yardage and touchdown totals increase in each of his five seasons in the league, is only 27 years old and is just entering his prime. The 2014 Grey Cup MVP also has 1,000-yard, 11-touchdown rusher Jerome Massam at his disposal, making Calgary’s offense one that is hard to rival.

BC Lions (+450)

The BC Lions are the CFL’s model of sheer consistency, having made it to the playoffs for 20 consecutive seasons.

The Lions were only a point shy of defeating the Stampeders at the West Final last year and they still remain Calgary’s biggest threat in the division. If the boys from British Columbia can avoid succumbing to the injury bug this 2017, they might very well be hoisting their sixth Grey Cup in franchise history and first since 2011.

Edmonton Eskimos (+550)

If there’s one quarterback than can rival Calgary’s Mitchell, it would be none other than the Edmonton Eskimos’ Mike Reilly. The Washington native played a full 18-game slate last season coming off an injury-riddled campaign the year prior, and eventually finished with career-highs of over 5,500 passing yards and 28 TDs.

The Eskimos have a veteran core with a sound defensive unit to boot. But in the end, Edmonton’s success still hinges on the arm of Reilly, who can very much lead the team towards its second championship title in three years.
